My journey with toxic mold

In 2021, I was on my way to recovering from my undiagnosed chronic illness when suddenly I was blindsided by debilitating all-body muscle cramps. It was one of the top five scariest things I've dealt with, made worse by not understanding why. I was doing everything right. I was eating clean. I was exercising and supporting my body and mind. The first doctor I saw ran a ton of blood work, which, of course, came back "normal." Then, she had the nerve to tell me my varicose veins and weight were the cause. Really? My veins are a part of my chronic illness, but this made little sense, so I trusted my gut and searched for another opinion. Thankfully I already had a functional practitioner I trusted.

I was still navigating my undiagnosed chronic illnesses, and the newest hiccup was nothing to laugh at. My diagnosis was Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, aka CIRS, a triggered gene. Turns out I carry a gene that 25% of the population has that makes the body unable to detox from toxic mold on its own—Yah me. The chronic inflammation is on a continuous loop, making more and more inflammation and wreaking havoc on my insides. Did you know that mold is considered a silent imitator? I didn't realize our home had been infected with toxic mold, slowly killing us.

Mold, categorized as a toxin, is also one of three triggers that re-activate past pathogens the body used to be able to handle.

Like most people, I wasn't born with a perfect gut. I was born with generations of damage combined with years of inflammation I created with poor food choices, taking antibiotics and a slew of other medications, and other unfortunate decisions. Diminished foundations, poor gut health, and cruddy drainage set my body up for 30+ years of struggling and symptoms.

I understand your struggles because not only have I been there, but I am still healing. Many years of damage, unfortunately, does not heal overnight. I've made a lot of mistakes, but I learned from every one of them. I furthered my knowledge by becoming a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor and Lyme specialist to help you and your kids.

I am committed to listening to your story to detect clues and insight into your health. I utilize multiple health techniques that provide a unique individualized approach to shift your health back into the wellness zone. I will make the connections that no one in your past has been able to. I am prepared to fight for you and alongside you. You may not love what I say at times, but I will tell you how it is while helping you understand why and how to get relief and finally get on the path to healing.
